Just after their Q4 earnings meeting some internal documents regarding the future of Dell in the tablet realm have leaked. The new document which comes via Androidcentral shows that Dell is really going to be staying true to the executive’s word –an executive made statements that Dell would be concentrating on Android and Windows platforms for tablets–.
When you look at the time-line graph at the bottom of this post you will see some Android tablets with Android 3.0 Honeycomb and Windows tablet with Windows 7 and even Windows 8 tablets are all in the works for Dell.
According to the chart Dell will be bringing out a 10-inch tablet named “Gallo” with Android 3.0 in Q3 of this year, a 7-inch tablet named “Sterling” in Q4 and two other 7-inch tablets named “Silver Oak” and “Opus” coming in Q1 of 2012. For Windows Dell will be launching a 10-inch 720p HD Windows 7 tablet named “Rosemount” in Q4 of this year and a 10-inch tablet named “Peju” with Windows 8 in Q1 of 2011.
At this time all that Windows has shown is that Windows can be designed to run on ARM processors, they haven’t made official statements that Windows 8 will be the version that will be ready for ARM or even tablets for that matter.
